Acclaimed Children’s Writer Amy Friedman Interviewed

Good day Amy and thank your for approving to participate in our interobserve.

Good day, Norm, and credit a million for having me.

Norm:

Amy, satisfy tell our booklovers a little bit about your special and professional background. What is your background in children’s literature?

Amy:

I think the avenue to lettering for an meeting of children began when I was a kid living in a house with two appraisal-addicted parents.

The furniture in our family’s den was barely obvious beneath the books, magazines and newsdocuments, and my Dad, a lawyer, had forever hunted to be a journaregulateory; in truth before vacant to law train he worked as a sports reporter (combining his two passions), but in that era Jews had demandingy receiving jobs as journaregulateorys, so Dad went to law train.

When I was about 12, I wrote my first little tale, and I absolute right then and there that I hunted to be a writer, while like all writers’ lives, the avenue to here has full many surprising turns.

I willful English at Barnard academy, with a junior in creative lettering. In those existence I wrote only fiction, and in the behind ‘70s, I went to City academy for an MFA in lettering because Donald Barthleme, a writer I admire massively, was doctrine there. He really was the somebody who trained me how to write well, how to work hard, and how, too, to take pressing pleafirm in lettering.

In the mid-80s my life took one of those glorious turns that feeds a writer’s imagination and nourishes the soul. I’d lived in Manhattan for virtually 15 living, but I floor in honey with a Canadian and stirred to a sheep ranch exterior
